Profile
After graduating from Southampton University in 1980 and working in the nature conservation field for 15 years, I set up John Norton ecology (formerly Cursor Computer Services) in late 1995. The business is run on an independent, freelance basis to provide a cost effective and reliable service to larger ecological consultancies, planning consultancies and private clients. All work is undertaken by myself or by experienced, specialised subcontractors. Although based in Gosport, Hampshire, I undertake work anywhere in the UK or the Middle East (past work and contracts have taken me to Wales, northern Scotland, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates). I have been a member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management since its formation in 1991 and my work is bound by its Code of Professional Conduct.
